"Conservation mats and glass protect your investment
and your memories from fading with time" |
When you have the
need to preserve your fine art as long as possible whether
for monetary or sentimental reasons then conservation
framing will be required. When artwork is conservation
framed it is treated in such a way that when it is removed
from the frame it will be in the same condition as when
it went into the frame. Conservation framing requires
the use of the following materials...
- Conservation
grade matting
- Conservation
grade mounting
- Conservation
grade glazing

To be conservation
framed; artwork must be hinged in a reversible technique
from the mount board (NOT THE MAT BOARD), the hinging
process must be 100% reversible, with no trace of the
materials used. The matting that is used must be of conservation
grade so as not to do damage to the art. The glazing,
whether glass or acrylic should be UV filtering to minimize
the damage of light to the art. Even if the art is not
exposed to direct sunlight UV rays can still do damage
to the art. Our designer's are trained in conservation
framing and will advise you in the use of the proper materials
to protect your fine art for years to come. |
